Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity Public Art Programme

Modus Operandi advised Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity on a number of commissions, including several in and around Guy’s Hospital in Southwark, one of the UK’s most celebrated teaching hospitals.  The Charity has a policy of committing 1% of the budget for all capital and refurbishment projects funded by the Hospital Trust to the inclusion of an art and design component.

Projects range from integrated art commissions and artist-in-residence schemes, to poetry, storytelling, temporary exhibitions and art installations.  Completed commissions include those for Sunshine House (Southwark’s new Child Development Centre), artwork for Guy’s Bereavement Centre, and a commission for the Haematology unit.  Commissioned artists include Rebecca Salter, Marta Marcé, Nicky Hirst, Ori Gersht, Paul Morrison, Simeon Nelson, Carsten Nicolai and Daniel Sturgis.
