BBC Broadcasting House Night Light

Ward 1
Ward 3
Ward 4

David Ward's Night Light was the first temporary artwork commissioned for the iconic ‘prow’ of BBC Broadcasting House during its redevelopment.  It was installed for six weeks, from early December 2002 to January 2003 and marked the temporary closure of the Grade II* listed building.  Each window of the building was lit with a blue light from dusk until dawn, accompanied by a quote from Italo Calvino’s seminal book Invisible Cities.

Night Light was part of the BBC Broadcasting House Public Art Programme, curated by Modus Operandi.
