Projects Co-ordinator

Poppy Heron joined Modus Operandi in 2014 and administers and manages all aspects of the organisation as well as providing support for commissions and projects.


Poppy is a visual arts administrator with a background spanning arts commissioning, programming, fundraising and project management.

Key projects delivered at Modus Operandi include: 

Art at Westgate (2015-2018): Coordinating the delivery of commissions by David Batchelor and Rana Begum. Production and delivery of temporary programme including artist commissions tour and public talk event with Modern Art Oxford. 

Canal & River Trust (2017-2018): Artist production support for sculptural sound work by Simeon Nelson. Coordinating volunteer programme and community engagement activities. Management of launch event and three-week performance programme. Commission development and legacy.    

Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, University of Oxford (2014 to 2016): Production and delivery of artist-led workshops to engage local families, young people and facilitate interdepartmental collaborations with University of Oxford. Coordinated install of three commissions across site by Simon Periton. Production of art programme publication. 


Prior to joining Modus Operandi, she worked as Festival Manager for HOUSE 2014, a visual arts commissioning festival taking place during the May Brighton Festival, which co-commissioned The British Library by Yinka Shonibare MBE.


She has delivered numerous projects working for ArtReach Consultants ranging from public consultation to commission and event management. Key projects include the presentation of Rafael Lozano-Hemmer's work Under Scan in Trafalgar Square and curating the symposium Participation in Visual Arts as part of the Folkestone Triennial 2011.


Poppy worked at Tate from 2004 until 2009, coordinating fundraising approaches for exhibitions and acquisitions, archive and conservation.
